1 unit of blood can save up to 3 lives. According to WHO, every two seconds, someone in India needs blood. It is estimated that over 12,000 people die every day in India due to non-availability of blood. One of the major factors for the shortfall is the lack of awareness and the prevalence of myths around blood donation.
Our city is witnessing rising cases of Dengue and a critical shortage of blood in hospitals. In this hour of need, our company held a blood donation camp on the 18th of August, 2023, in association with Shri Mahant Indresh Hospital. The initiative saw an overwhelming response from Evon employees and staff alike.
As a token of gratitude, Shri Mahant Indresh Hospital provided the following for all the blood donors:
- Free blood tests including Blood Group, HIV1, HIV2, Hepatitis B, C, Malaria, and Syphilis costing over Rs. 3200/.
- Donor Cards for all donors, which allow them to take blood components for themselves, their mother, father, siblings, wife, and children, without paying any processing charges and just showing documented proof.
- Certificates of appreciation
- Gifts and refreshments
Community health is integral to Evon’s idea of a responsible company, and this camp was a gesture in that direction. We are proud to be a part of such a worthy cause and thank all the donors for making a difference in someone’s life.
