We developed a mental health mobile platform that was earlier known as Lyftly. The client reached out to us while looking for an offshore development company for developing a mobile platform that offers a safe space for teens to explore who they are and be their true selves by engaging with uplifting content, learning new skills, connecting with life coaches, and offering crisis support and clinical care at their fingertips for the tougher moments. Teens nowadays need and deserve more, and the app was created to make teens happier --to intervene early and prevent the need for intensive care while normalizing mental and emotional health for those who don’t always take part or have access to the right aid.
Project Overview
The app provides considerably curated and evaluated content from trusted sources that are original and assembled by their creator network. The content is designed for anything life brings, that addresses teens' specific challenges and feel-good approaches leveled in the science of happiness. It delivers the right intervention when required with the help of highly trained clinicians who can provide real-time support and evidence-based virtual care that teens need.
Requirements
We had started the app development 5 years ago with a team spanning all development fronts :
- Front-end website for the user to subscribe to the App
- API for the software components to communicate with each other using a set of definitions and protocols
- Mobile app development
Roles and responsibilities
- Application design
- Project Management
- Release Management
- Development
- Bug fixing
Time Duration of Project
January 2017 - 2022
Activities
- The project Manager planned the releases.
- Daily calls to review the progress, take feedback and understand the business requirement.
Challenges faced and how we overcome
After successful pitching, the app was acquired by another Healthcare company. With the acquisition, newer features along with technology advancements were planned and added. This was done to meet user expectations on the features, data security, and performance. This way our clients got access to additional products that are integrated and added support in places they eventually expand to. It not only increases its reach to the newer audience but also helps the platform to grow.
With legacy code on all fronts, the version upgrade at every level was also required. In order to maintain the already live product, this upgrade was planned in a piecewise model. Our team members had to walk on a tightrope and maintain the stability that delivery plans need, adding new functionalities, and eliminating redundant ones without any tradeoff on code quality and heightened performance.
Our Solution
- We have set up well-defined processes for development based on the Agile methodology
- We had a core development team that consist of SM/PO on their end
- Team members for Node, iOS, Android, Angular, and DevOps along with a QA
- DevOps and CI/CD were integrated for reducing time on repetitive tasks of builds and deployments and making the latest builds available to QA at all times
The outcome of our efforts:
We are proud to be able to say that to date, Evon Technologies has been able to meet all the timelines defined in the roadmap laid out by the client. From development to design, architecture, and testing of complete application was contributed by our company.
